VH1 Save The Music Foundation’s mission is to re-establish music programs in different schools. Today in Houston, they partnered with Energizer’s now that’s positivenergy™ campaign to donate $30,000 worth of music equipment to 8 different elementary schools around the United States. Special music guest Reik kicked off the celebration at one of the elementary donation recipient schools. The result was a donation of a music lab containing 16 keyboards to Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School near Downtown in Houston, Texas.

Students, Staff, Reik, VH1 representatives, and Energizer representatives were thrilled at the opportunity to witness the music lab dedication! Just before Reik began to play their song, The Energizer Bunny made a special appearance pounding his drum to the excitement of the children. Once The Energizer Bunny had finished his intro, Reik took a moment to sing their famous song Inolvidable to the children.

Energizer’s now that’s positivenergy™ representative Karen Presnell celebrated the VH1 and Energizer partnership with, “VH1 Save The Music Foundation’s mission to re-establish music programs in different schools is well aligned with Energizer’s mission is and what it means to the communities.”

Energizer’s now that’s positivenergy™ is dedicated to celebrating the intersection where performance and responsibility meet focusing attention on Energizer’s charging and lighting products. To promote this mission, Karen Presnell has the unique privilege of being on-site to represent Energizer’s now that’s positivenergy™ campaign as they partner with other organizations to give back to the community.

VHI Save The Music Foundation Executive Director, Paul Cochran said, “The students and faculty are celebrating the installation of this keyboard lab. The sooner that the children have the opportunity to study a musical instrument, the sooner we see improvement in their other subjects”.

Similar to Karen, Rob travels to different sites to represent the donation initiatives of VH1’s Save The Music Foundation.

The music group Reik was interviewed after the show and their lead guitarist Julio Ramírez Eguía commented, “There are 8 schools receiving these keyboard labs. This will be amazing for the students because music just gives a positive energy. It’s learning, singing with classmates, it’s just positive energy.”
