They met each other about a year and 1/2 ago. They fell in love and this past Saturday united their boys and families together as H6 or Hendee – Hartland 6. Location of Ceremony was St. Johns Episcopal at 11am. Reception afterwards was just down the street at River Oaks Country Club of Houston, Texas.

Julie and I loved how there were lots of manly tears at this wedding. Her father and Tom were very moved to tears of joy at different points of the night.

What a unique wedding couple! These two wonderful people Mike and Sarah are both High School teachers–Math and Chemistry!! Cant wait to see the genius kids they have in a few yrs.

Julie and I had an awesome time with their families at their downtown Houston wedding last Saturday.

They say they plan to honeymoon sometime this summer when it works better with their teaching schedules.

Katie and I e-mailed a bit this week while she was in Hawaii. She said she was blog stalking. I told her to put the computer away and enjoy Maui!

Katie was really cute at her wedding–bouncing around, very happy. Jeff was a gentleman. Excited and having a fun time the whole night of their wedding Enjoyed getting to know both of them.

Well, we just put the last touches on a little wedding highlight short for them to enjoy as they enter their second week of marriage.

We had a great time with her bridal party and groomsmen getting ready at Hotel Sorella in The West Houston area near Town and Country and the new City Centre Development. We then scooted to Memorial Drive United Methodist & Lakeside Country Club. The weather was awesome this weekend for their wedding in West Houston near Town and Country area and The Memorial Area of Houston, Texas.

The Reception area at Lakeside Country Club was decorated very beautifully. Enjoy this short highlight we put together for this awesome couple!

Julie and I got to enjoy their wedding weekend by attending their Wedding Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Day. Such a nice time with their family and friends.

The flowers and decoration was tastefully amazing!  Take a look at this highlight piece to see The Corinthian of Houston decorated before the guests entered.  Very few Reception facilities in Houston can look this spectacular.  Nino did an awesome job with the decoration of the flowers.

They went to Bora Bora for honeymoon.

My top 10

1) My 3 days with my wife in Vegas.

Such a romantic treat for us. Nice food, shows, & casino. A really nice time.

2) The Print Competition
Listening to other photographers comment and critique the prints in the competition was really cool to see. I feel like we really refined our professional growth by listening in on the commentary of the judges.

3)Meeting and Seeing great photographers
Many of these photographers I had never known or heard of before. There was exceptional talent there.

4)The Trade Show
This was awesome! The tradeshow was an amazing way to see all of the best videos in the photography industry. Since video & photography is marging quite a bit in technology (i.e.: Canon 5D Mark II, Nikon D800, etc). We get tons of value from attending the trade show. We purchased quite a bit of gear from B&H Photo & Video. We like dealing with B&H. Very responsive. Prices always competitive.

We also spent some time at the Think Tank Booth. We ordered 2 new bags from them and are really excited about the new way to organize our gear.

Loved the talks given by thephotographers @ the Nikon, Canon, and Sony booths. Favorites were Doug Gordon with Nikon, Jerry Gihonis with Nikon, and Hanson Fong with Canon.

5)Doug Gordon’s Plus Class

Doug is talented, kind, very direct, entertaining, and hilarious.  Really learned a ton from Doug’s techniques of posing & lighting.

6) Think Tank Bags

We loved these bags from Think Tank!  Very much appreciate the guy who helped us analyze our wedding and event documentary video and photography needs.  Organization of gear means happiness.  :)

7)  Time Lapse and HDR class by uh…I forget.  He is a photographer out of Phoenix.

The Time Lapse technique was really cool.  We will use it in our next event for sure!!

HDR is not cool.  I don’t ilke it.  Too intense, over cooked and not real.

 Jennifer Hudson – Fine Art Womans Portraiture

She is simple.  Elegant.  Very Creative.  Unlike any photographer.  Very artistic.   A neat change of pace to see here at work with her female models.

9) Kevin Kubota’s Class

Great on fundamentals and very entertaining.  Great use of Video Production.  Showed excellent use of Video lights that we will make use of in Houston with our Commercial, Wedding, Event, Portrait Film, Video and Photography shoots.

10) Scott Robert Class on Flashes, Lighting, and Gear

This class alone saved us about $2000 in flash gear by introducing us to manual flashes.  We ended up buying from B &H, but this class was very illuminating about manual flash to best control light and save $$ on flashes.

My favorite one line takeaway came from this class.  Scott said to “Sandwich” your subject with light.  That is the best communication about how to use reflectors, flash, etc that I’ve every heard.  Nice going Scott Robert!

Energizer Night Race – November 11, 2011

Perry Video & Photography out of Houston, Texas often works with different organizations to document their events, particularly charity events sponsoring a cause.

In addition to Perry Video & Photography crew at the event, there were 5 other Media Professional Cameras at the event. We were stepping all over each other in that little classroom to get some good shots of Reik and the elementary school students at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary near Downtown in Houston, Texas. The piano lab they were given was amazing! We are so happy to be a part of what Energizer and VH1 has done for those children.

Here is the edit we put together in 2 hrs immediately after the event.
